Speaking after attending the official opening, MSP Murdo Fraser, who is Deputy Leader of the Scottish Conservatives and Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education, said:
“It was a pleasure to be at the opening of this tremendous new facility for Blairgowrie. We were given a tour of the new building from the pupils and it is clear that they are very proud and happy with their new school. This facility will serve the community of Blairgowrie well.
“The new community school is a shared campus between Newhill and St Stephen’s. It is good to see the two schools coming together and integrating so well, which is a credit to the heads, the teachers and the pupils and their families.”
Blairgowrie and the Glens Councillor Caroline Shiers said:
“This is a wonderful new facility for the school children of Newhill and St Stephen’s. The Blairgowrie Community Campus is smart, bright and welcoming for its pupils and is an excellent environment for learning.
“All the staff are to be praised for the effort and commitment that they have put in to make this transition as easy as possible for the school children.”
