Perthshire Conservatives point to the poll, published by the Scottish Sun, as evidence that Perth & North Perthshire voters can have a decisive say in the outcome of the next General Election as they can elect a Conservative MP, currently Conservative Candidate Peter Lyburn, for the Seat.
The poll put both the Scottish Conservative and the SNP on 21 points. The poll shows that the Scottish Conservatives are the party in Scotland that is adding the most new support of any party in Scotland.
Commenting, Peter Lyburn said:
"Only Labour or the Conservatives can form the next UK Government. Every vote counts and people in Perth & North Perthshire can help to elect a new and fresh Conservative Government or be stuck with Labour for another five years.
"This poll shows that the Scottish Conservative are neck-and-neck with the SNP across Scotland. It is clear from this poll that people in Perth & North Perthshire can be assured that a vote for the Scottish Conservatives will help elect a Conservative MP.
"I hope that people in Perth & North Perthshire will play their part in bringing about the change that Scotland and Britain so desperately needs. We need to start tackling the country's enormous national debt, we need to restore people's trust in politics and politicians, we need to fix our broken society, raise standards in our schools, improve our health service and get people back into work."
Murdo Fraser MSP said:
"The SNP cannot form the next UK Government. It may well be votes here in Perth & North Perthshire that decide the future of the UK Government, be it a Labour or Conservative one. Voters here have the choice between change to get the country back on its feet and five more years of Gordon Brown.
"Voters know that the only way of getting rid of this Labour Government is to vote Conservative."
