CONSERVATIVES GO CARBON NEUTRAL

The Scottish Conservative Party Conference, taking place in Perth this week in the Dewars Centre Perth will be carbon neutral. The Scottish Conservatives will offset the carbon dioxide emissions produced during the conference through environmental projects through working in collaboration with the Carbon Neutral Company.

The Scottish Conservative Conference has been certified by the Carbon Neutral Company. For more information on the Carbon Neutral Company, visit their website www.carbonneutral.com

Deputy Leader of the Scottish Conservatives and MSP for Mid-Scotland & Fife Murdo Fraser said:

“The Scottish Conservatives have worked with the Carbon Neutral Company in order to make our Scottish Party Conference officially carbon neutral. This is the second year in a row that the Scottish Conservatives have worked to make our conference carbon neutral and again demonstrates that we are prepared to take action and not just words to help our environment. “I am proud that Scottish Conservative Conference will help create a lasting legacy with a direct and positive impact on the environment. Of course, a Conservative Government will put even more emphasis on the environment than the present Labour Government; we know that we must be ambitious and bold for the future of our planet.

“I believe that the environment and the economy do not have to compete with one another and it is clear that developing green energy will help create new jobs and new industries. Our economy is key but we cannot turn our back on the environment. We have to look at the bigger picture and reduce our pollution in order to stop damaging our planet and home.”
