REVIEW OF PERTH & KINROSS ROADS NEEDED NOW

A review of all roads in Perth & Kinross following the damage caused by three weeks of freezing weather has been called for by Mid-Scotland & Fife Conservative MSP Murdo Fraser.

MSP Murdo Fraser wants Transport Scotland and Perth & Kinross Council to undertake a full review of the state of the roads that they are responsible for, to assess them for repair.

Commenting, Murdo Fraser said:

“The extreme weather over Christmas and New Year has damaged roads across Scotland and one of the biggest problems is potholes. In Perth & Kinross, I want to see a full review taken out to assess the state of our roads and to get any blackspots fixed as soon as possible.

“The people of Perth & Kinross who drive on the local road network already know that the state of some stretches of road require repairs. We need to see urgent repair work being carried out to roads that are dangerous, such as sections of road that have large potholes. The longer it is left to improve our roads, the more it will cost tax payers money to improve them in the long term.”
