Pupils' visit to the Parliament
This visit by Blairgowrie High School pupils to the Scottish Parliament is one of a series of regular trips to Edinburgh by individuals and groups. Supporting Scotland's sheep farmers
Mid-Scotland & Fife Tory MSP Murdo Fraser has backed NFU Scotland and local sheep farmers by signing a petition that calls on the European Commission to see common sense and remove the costly requirement to double tag sheep.
New regulations have been brought in that require Scottish sheep farmers to double tag their sheep, which is intended to improve sheep identification. Murdo believes that the regulations are bureaucratic, time consuming and expensive for Scottish sheep farmers and has signed NFU Scotland’s petition to have the regulations changed.

Highland Candidate supports Aberfeldy campaign
At the request of Graham Rees, Conservative by-election candidate for the Highland Ward on Perth & Kinross Council, Mike Turner from Aberfeldy Community Council met Graham, Highland ward councillor Ian Campbell and Mid-Scotland & Fife MSP Murdo Fraser in Aberfeldy at the weekend to highlight the Community Council's concerns. Graham, Ian and Murdo pledged their support for the campaign for a staffed toilet in the town.

The Fairbridge Charity
Murdo Fraser organised a visit for Conservative MSPs and staff to Fordell to learn more about the work of the charity Fairbridge. Fairbridge do amazing work with young people who are NEETS (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Just one example of their work is an activity day to increase youngsters confidence and teambuilding skills.

St Andrews Day Dinner
A St Andrews Day dinner was held at the Hangar Function suite at Perth Airport with Annabel Goldie as guest speaker. The meal was created by members of the Association and was followed by a charity auction. The event was a great success and raised a considerable sum for the Association. Thanks go to all concerned.

Failed pledge on police numbers

Tribute to Scots World War I soldiers
Deputy Leader of the Scottish Conservatives and Mid-Scotland & Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has lodged a parliamentary motion in the Scottish Parliament thanking the people of Flanders for dedicating a Memorial to Scottish soldiers who fought and died during the First World War.
Murdo attended the unveiling of the Scottish Memorial, which took place in Zonnebeke in Flanders on the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele.

Adding Insult to Injury
The Conservative Group on Perth and Kinross Council have all along opposed the charge of £3 a week for the community alarms given to vulnerable people.
Councillor Barbara Vaughan has now been approached by a resident in the Strathtay Ward she represents with a complaint about the money wasted by the Council in sending out the notices concerning these.

About 80 members and supporters of the Perth and North Perthshire Conservative Association enjoyed this year's annual BBQ at the Stormontfield Hall. Over £1000 was raised for Association funds.

Wrong Trousers day
Mid-Scotland and Fife Tory MSP Murdo Fraser this week joined forces with Oscar winning animated stars Wallace and Gromit to help promote Wrong Trousers Day (WTD) 2007. Murdo posed with the life-sized character Wallace to help encourage as many people as possible to get involved with this year’s Wrong Trousers Day on Friday 29th June.
Inspired by the animated antics of Wallace and Gromit, Murdo posed with the cheese-loving pair in aid of children's hospitals and hospices. Wrong Trousers Day is being held on 29th June and has a sports theme - Get your Kit on. Participants pay £1 for the 'right to look wrong'.
